
We’ve all been there, the morning after a big night out. Eyes are tired, stomach is queasy but soldier on you must! Today is a new day, with fun to be had and adventures to pursue. So how best to kickstart the day?
When in doubt I look to New Orleans for answers. After all, they throw parties that last for days. So here’s an old standby from the experts. The bourbon milk punch.
In a cocktail shaker put one part bourbon and three parts milk (whole is best), add simple syrup (a half to three quarters oz should do, but go ahead and add to taste). To this add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and ice. Shake until chilled. Pour into glass (on rocks or up) and add a dash of nutmeg to finish.
For a twist, replace the milk with ice cream and dial back on the simple syrup. Put ingredients in a blender. You now have a killer dessert or decadent morning cocktail.
